Non-spoiling Friendly Fruit Fly Fruit

After the death of a friendly fruit fly that I had befriended hundreds of days ago, the fruit it was linked to still has not spoiled. The item won’t be eaten by lure plants and essentially can’t be rid of. Another fruit fly recently died to hounds and it yet again won’t spoil.
