Item collection isn't working all of a sudden.

I have the same issue. I played last night and it was fine, but now it keeps saying item collection failed, it's forcing me to try to start a new character when I join my girlfriends game, and I can't play any of my unlocked characters

I'm having this problem as well. I'm unable to access any fo the skins I've purchased for items and it shows 'item download failed'. I've restarted my PS5, restarted the game, checked all the updates and everything in my system is up to date. Changed wifi networks, and it still is not working.
