So for months now me and my friend have been trying to play together (you know like the game title says). We have the same console (Xbox series X) and when one of us tries joining the other, it says it's loading like normal but then boots us back to the home screen without telling us why. We can play with random people, just not with each other. This issue occurs with all of my friends. We tried joining a different friend to see if that fixed the problem and but it did not. Please help if you can! ;-;
I don't know what I was doing to make the issue happen. As stated above we could join strangers in their games but not each other in ours.
If joining a game my friend is hosting I boot up the game, wait for Internet to work, then go to browse games. I find my friends game and attempt to join. Then the screen starts to load. I'm sent back to the home screen.
If hosting the game I go to the host option, create the world, and make no adjustments. 6 players, online, public settings. I boot up the world and wait for my friend to join. The world loads but my friends can't join, they are also booted to the home screen.
