In a world created after the last update (a little drama) but before winter feast event began. Tried sleeping under a festive tree that is fully decorated, no gift spawned. Same happened when tree is partially decorated or not decorated at all.
SOLVED - I initiated decorated the tree with only winter goodies items. When I swapped some for a bauble and a magnificent adornment I did receive a gift upon sleeping & waking up.
Steps to Reproduce
Sleep under a fully grown & decorated festive tree -> no gift when waking.
