Not sure if technically a bug, but in the current state it seems as if the vacuum of space is not getting rid of gases at an appreciable rate. Or the cells that are not exposed to the vacuum of space due to natural wallpaper don't readily release their contained gases to neighboring exposed cells.
In the screenshots / save game attached, you can see that Hydrogen is covering the entirety of unexposed space. The only source of Hydrogen in my base are 4 wild slug plugs, so there is very little being added into the system. But the Sublimation Station right below the open airlock is sitting at Max Gas Pressure and unable to push Polluted Oxygen much further.
Expected behavior would be that the Hydrogen disappears into space much faster, with the polluted oxygen giving chase. The same behavior should probably be visible when deliberately dumping excess gases into space.
But, again, this may not be a bug but intended behavior. Hard to tell without making a specific setup to measure gas expulsion rates.
- Dump small amount of gas 1 into unexposed area of space
- Back-fill with gas 2
- Watch gas 1 cover the entire area adjacent to exposed space for dozens of cycles, effectively sealing space off to gas 2
