solid cargo unloader not recognizing/unloading Cinnabar when never seen before

CraigEwert
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: OSX Pending

build US7-707956-SCRPN

Macos Tahoe version 26.3.1 Apple silicon

Sent a cargo rocket to pick up Cinnabar. When it returned, the solid cargo unloader wouldn't unload it. I found the unloader (and all other cargo bins / movers & the resource info section) didn't have "Cinnabar" in their lists of materials.

Deleting and rebuilding the Large Cargo Bay dropped the Cinnabar on the surface, and now all lists of materials do include "Cinnabar"

Didn't happen with Fullerene or Iridium when they were first brought back

Spaced Out with Bionic, Frosty, and Prehistoric DLCs enabled

Steps to Reproduce

Start spaced out. Enable Frosty, Bionic, Prehistoric DLC.

Get up to rocket tech, find a POI with Cinnabar

Sent (robotic) cargo rocket (no Drillcone) to collect loose Cinnabar

Land at platform with attached Solid Rocket Port Unloader and rails etc

Result:

Cinnabar doesn't unload

User Feedback

You need to discover resources to select them in the unloaders. They aren’t discovered if they’re in the cargo bay themselves. You likely already discovered fullerene and iridium. This behavior is a bit silly and cargo bay inclusion should count as discovering IMO.

Note the “Empty Storage” button empties the storage a lot quicker than deconstructing

I might have passed through the fullerene & iridium hexes with a manned rocket. Would that count as "discovering"?

I don't think so. The discovering element thing is kinda weird because a dupe or something that counts like one such as auto sweeper need to physically have access to it first. For example, building a pitcher pump on molten niobium counts even if you have never mopped it in the past. But just passing through a gilded asteroid POI wouldn't count, even if you also collect the free floating resources
