Bug: There is currently no way to force data banks to be delivered to a RoboPilot.
The problem this causes: if I'm planning a complex route in space to stop at multiple POIs along the way, there is no way to load up the required number of data banks for the trip, even though my rocket can support that distance. In other words, the distance the data banks can cover is not correlated with the distance the rocket can cover. And there is no way to force an errand to add more data banks.
Suggested solution: The RoboPilot should have a slider that can configure the requested data banks from 0 to 200 (with a default of say 100). And if there are "less than X data banks", then trigger an errand to fill it up to X. And the "rocket ready" automation port and Launch Checklist should be RED until the correct amount of data banks are present. This would be consistent with how the fuel and oxidizer tanks work also. You could adjust all three (fuel, oxidizer, data banks OR radbolts + data banks) to be precisely the amount for a given distance/route, which would be useful for recurring routes to multiple POI.
Example:
- Build a rocket with RoboPilot, say a hydrogen rocket with ability to go 32 distance.
- Send rocket on a trip(s).
- When rocket returns, say it has 48 data banks remaining.
- Now I want to send the rocket on a trip to multiple POIs that requires 32 distance, so 64 data banks.
- There is no way to force a delivery of more data banks. Even selecting a roundtrip to the edge of the map will not force a delivery (because the edge requires only 22 distance which is 44 data banks, and the rocket has 48 data banks).
