Radbolts generate impossible amount of radiation

I wondered why my dupes started to "randomly" drop dead with horrible amount of radiation exposure, so i searched for the cause and found this:

And then some more...

Seems like traveling radbolts sometimes are randomly creating deathzones of Radiation. It does not happen all the time or in the exakt same spots, i guess it is a bug? I hope it is a bug. I know that there is a weird lensing effect wih radiation, when liquid is involved - perhaps something similare is happening in this case.
Is this bug a known issue?

Steps to Reproduce

Load the save file and watch the radbolts traveling next to my ladder system on the first asteroid.

I am not sure, what exactly is causing the bug to happen. Liquids near radiation Zones? Shinbug-Reactor? Infinite nuclear waste storage+overflow? (I don't think it is the infinite storage, because this is the first save i used that method, but the randomly chernobyled dupe-deaths are a reoccuring theme...)

A developer has marked this issue as fixed. This means that the issue has been addressed in the current development build and will likely be in the next update.

Flying radbolts generate random radiations cells. Thats intended. Amount of radiation depends on number of radbolts in projectile. If you have thousands than its not a bug at all

It is not thousands... but 500 radbolts. Should that create zones with over 2000000 radiation?

I still think it is a bug: at the start of the radbolt-projectile, it creates radiation cells with expected radiation value. but once it enters the zone of my ladder system, the radiation spikes to ungodly values somtimes.

Dude imagine having a beam of radiation just flying half a meter from your face.

At least separate dupes from radbolts with a wall.

I am familiar with this mechanic. And those "flashes" appear only in vacuum. Also me and my friends worked for couple weeks straight to harness power of "flashes". It would be very disappointing if our system will become useless

Are these flashes with over 2million radation intended or a bug? (and dupes instantly dying from radiation)

Noooo, please don't fix it. This bug is a part of a game that adds engineering challenge that i really like ONI for. Please don't fix it. I worked 2 weeks to find a way to tame it. This fix will throw all this effort to trash bin.
