In the Swamp map seed I'm currently playing, the only two plug slugs that spawn on the map die within 2 cycles due to what I suspect is a pathing issues.
I was able to reproduce the same pathing behavior multiple times.
- The Slugs spawn in the air and drop down into the water.
- After falling into the water they slither to the left and get "stuck" on a tile .
- In about 1,25 cycle the water level starts to stabilizes (from the initial 670 Kg to about 950 Kg) and the slugs start drowning.
- I was expecting them to find new safe ground after the drowning started, but without dupe interference they end up dying.
If you make the dupes rush to the slugs and dig out a tile near them, they do save themselves by going through the water and finding safe ground on the right side of the area.
- Using sandbox, I also spawned a Drecko which behaves exactly the same.
- Using debug, I dropped 1000 Kg of polluted water on top of he spot the slugs are staying and after that they path left towards the ceiling.
Steps to Reproduce
- Load seed SWMP-C-1007461690-0
- unpause the game (and set to max speed)
- wait untill the slugs start drowning and die.
