Game Crash - Launching a Rocket Crashes the Game

Turtledud3_
  • Branch: Live Branch Version: Windows Pending

Just after the Sweet Dreams update for Spaced Out, luanching a rocket now crashes the game after a bit. The game crashes anywhere from instantly after the rocket leaves the screen for space to a few minutes after launch. I have changed the rocket all around to make sure it is not the specific setup I am using. It is not. Launching any rocket seems to crash the game.

Steps to Reproduce

Using the save file attached the crash should be easily reproduced. In the save, a rocket is set up for launch. The destination is set and everything. Just set the only rocket in the save to "crew" and then turn the automation toggle attached to the rocket platform on (green). The rocket will launch a short while later automatically once the crew is present and it fills up with a bit of water. If the bug persists, the game will crash shortly after the rocket launch.

User Feedback

Kinda the same issue, was building for ages on 1 extra rocket, planning to go to another planet to colonize.

So have been preparing and gathering so much stuff in that 1 rocket for ages.

Yesterday, finally i launched it, before the rocket leaves my screen fully the game crashes.

When loading my game the rocket just starts to leave and the game keeps crashing.

So i loaded another map i played previously, works perfectly.

So i releaded an old save of my current map, works perfectly as well, played another 20cycles and tried to launch my rocket again, crash.

Because u said "Launching any rocket seems to crash the game"

I do have an old rocket for just reasearch which has not changed in ages, this one still just works fine it seems, i can launch and do some research and just come back.

There is something with the rocket i "just" build.

I logged a ticket to support with my log.

save game added. Just add crew and destination to the middle rocket.

I was having the same issue. Not sure if this is the cause but I noticed something. My saves AFTER I named my rockets, crashes when launching them. My saves before renaming them launch just fine.

If you renamed your rockets recently, try going to a save before and see if it starts working again.

@Adventwraith

i personnaly was looking for a way to rename the rockets in 1 of my play throughs, but did not find it :D

So that surely is not my issue.

How can you rename btw? :)
I have read about a mod, but never tried it tbh.

I am playing spaced out btw.

@Peacem4kr

No need for a mod anymore, it is now part of the main game as of the latest patch. If I remember correctly, you select your Spacefarer Module and can rename it from there (small button).

Sorry that didn't fix your issue. Worked like a charm for me.
