The new four-tile-sized creatures called Orehulls share the same glitches as the original aquatic critters and manatees. First, they get stuck on the corner of right-side blocks while pathfinding, even though there is valid open space above to move through. Second, if they grow up pressed right against solid blocks, they spawn trapped inside the right-hand wall. Manatees suffer only from the first issue and not the second.
In both glitch scenarios, the in-room critter detector still registers these stuck animals. This prevents new creatures from being added to the enclosure and halts resource production entirely. I once had an entire tree deer farm collapse because of the manatee corner-sticking bug.
This bug first appeared when farming the four-tile fish from the Prehistoric Planet DLC and has carried over into the newest downloadable content, as shown in the attached screenshots. Figures 1 and 2 display the normal pathfinding route for fully grown four-tile creatures; juvenile specimens (Figure 3) navigate without issues. However, members of both new species that mature inside the rightmost tile become immobilized. Pulling up their pathfinding data (Figures 4 and 5) confirms they have no valid movement destinations at all, which corresponds to the second bug.
For the first bug affecting manatees: individuals housed in the left-side manatee pen occasionally wedge themselves against the stepped blocks on the right wall. I have marked all locations where these three varieties of four-tile creatures commonly become lodged using wooden blocks in Figure 7.
Steps to Reproduce
Bug 1
Four-tile creatures have a chance of getting stuck when there is an protruding block on their right side, even though they can move onto the top of that right-side block.
Bug 2
Four-tile aquatic creatures grow up adjacent to right-side solid blocks, becoming permanently stuck upon maturing while still being counted toward the room's creature population limit.
