Duplicants No longer make excess microchips

As of the new public testing branch, duplicants will only make a new microchip if there exists a building in the power plant without a microchip on it. This means that due to the increased power plant usage time, there is a significant window in which there is no microchip on the generator, which kind of sucks a bit, but mostly I thought to report because the way this feature works means that there is no purpose to the storage bin being able to hold microchips, since there is no way to ever have excess, which i would otherwise think to be an intended possible, thing, to do.

To my memory, previous behavior for the power control station involved duplicants constantly attempting to maintain an excess of ~5 microchips per generator.


Steps to Reproduce

1. create a power plant room

2. watch a duplicant only create as many microchips as is needed to upgrade the buildings

3. they will not manufacture more




User Feedback


With Bionic DLC, it's impossible to save up Microchips to upgrade Bionic dups without disallowing Tinkering to all petroleum generators.

So apparently, you can order production on the Soldering Station to create boosters for Bionic dups, and Microchips will be created as needed. But I am used to having all the ingredients available before (not after) ordering production, this confused me.
