when 3777kg remaining came to 3000kng remaining, it suppose to be 777kg came out,but theres more than 1500kg in room, this mistake made the mercury became more and more, used to be 1 floor mercury and theres more than 2 floor 10 cycle later

this situation seemed only happened in slow speed

User Feedback

Hi,

I've also encountered this bug in my normal (i.e. non-Sandbox) game: The geothermal pump vents significantly more water than is put in (a bit hard to tell how much exactly because it vents into a rather large chamber, but I'd guess about 2x).

Investigating further in a fresh sandbox game, it actually can happen that it never stops venting at all. The following behavior is fully reproducible on my machine (Linux):

  • start fresh game on Ceres, go to sandbox mode
  • find and ready Geothermal pump
  • activate 1 vent
  • fill with 12t water & start

The vent will initially throw out the solids and quickly vent to 11.7t and then stay at 11.7t while venting continuously, forever. Going from slow to high speed causes the number to decrease normally (I measured the output and it does yield the expected 11.7something tons of water), going back to slow speed makes the number stay at whatever it has reached. In my current test game this behavior survives reloads, restarts, pauses, etc.

In a different, older sandbox game I first did some tests in I could cause the vent to work semi-normally after quitting to menu and reloading the game. It then switched to the behavior I experienced in my regular game, i.e. the vent emits water normally at fast speed but significantly too much (but not infinite) water at slow speed.

I am also encountering this bug. I ran some tests using debug mode trying to track it down.

  • Load this file:Geo Vent Test - Full.sav that has the Geothermal Heat Pump full and waiting for its first activation.
  • Click on "Activate Power Plant."image.jpeg.e21e8f36f898b1f20db816156de72e1d.jpeg
  • Wait for the venting cycle to complete and steam pressure to equalize across the 400 tile room.
  • Measure the quantity of steam.

I got 73.2kg x 400 tiles = 29,280kg of emitted steam vs the 12,000 kg of water that was pumped into the Heat Pump, roughly 2.5 times more than I should have.
