It appears that though you can feed stone hatches aluminum ore, it does not increase their chance to produce a smooth hatch egg.
I have observed Stone Hatches eating aluminum ore over the course of a few cycles, and the chance did not increase. This does not seem to be intended.
Steps to Reproduce
Place a stone hatch in a stable, and stock it with aluminum ore. Observe that the chance to create a smooth hatch egg does not increase.
