I was planning my gray water tank when I saw a pip pick up a seed for the first time. I had never seen one do so before so I watched it closely as it carried it down to a natural water resevoir which I had been using, and it planted the mealwood in the water. I don't know if pips do that with any other seeds.
The save file has the water mealwood with the pip walking away from it on the left of the water tank plans.

Force a pip into a room with water covered floors with a seed.
