Metal Deletion with autosweeper/pitcher pump

When I set up an autosweeper with a pitcher pump at a metal volcano, I noticed that sometimes the autosweeper would glitch out. It'll work fine for a while, then suddenly get into a loop where it tries to operate the pitcher pump, and the metal in the pool goes down, but it doesn't actually produce a bottle, so the metal just gets deleted. (Sometimes it will produce a 200kg bottle at the end, sometimes only 40kg.)

EDIT:

Mods, fast worker mode, and game speed don't affect it. Only triggers on instant build mode.

I THOUGHT it only triggered on fast worker mode, but that doesn't seem to be true. I'm back to not knowing why. I do know that it can trigger without mods or debug mode, in sandbox or not.


Steps to Reproduce

Build an autosweeper/pitcher pump combo as seen in the video?

 

I feel like a previous arrangement of the machines didn't run into this issue, but I don't know what the active difference was.

I think this ended up being fast worker mode. Is there any way to make fast worker mode have some kind of visual indication? Because I hadn't intended to turn it on and so didn't know it was running.

 

It's also super surprising that fast worker mode persists across closing the game and reloading (even across leaving debug mode!)--nothing else from debug mode does that, so I had initially assumed that that meant it couldn't possibly be a debug setting.
