If you tell your dupes to dig out a room, tell them to place a building, then cancel the building, there are invisible dig errands (I've seen up to 4 stacked on one tile) which can't be canceled unless you give another dig errand for the tile.

Steps to Reproduce
1. Start new game. 2. Dig out some building material. 3. Pause. 4. Order a 3x4 space for an outhouse. 5. Overwrite some of that space with an outhouse order. 6. Cancel the outhouse order (through either the context menu or the "C" tool)
