Infinite Heat Generation Exploit

CodingKitteh
  • Branch: Live Branch Pending

Identified Problem:

  • Transformers and Batteries stay active (do not turn off) when the power to the circuit (also applicable to grid) shuts off. This happens as long as a power generator is physically connected to the circuit after the power switch.

Intended behavior:

  • Batteries/transformers should turn off when grid or circuit isn't active. Whether the system is a perfect energy insulator or not, heat generation should not occur at this state since it is off.

Additional Notes/Observations:

  • Batteries currently do not have energy loss (unrealistic). The battery is rated at 6 watts (J/s) generation yet does not subtract loss from battery storage (40 kJ)
  • When no power generator is present in the circuit, the circuit will switch off appropriately and not generate heat

Evidence:

  • Replicated in Save file
  • Location is at any battery/transformer (easiest one is at "battery steps," the switch is off yet the batteries still have animation)
  • Heat is generated warming up the passing water at 95 grams/sec (a total of 20 batteries heats the passing water from 80°C to 115°C) free of any energy investment

Possible Exploits:

  • Steam generation without any energy input
  • Free energy in the form of heat

Steps to Reproduce
1. Make a circuit/grid (example will use circuits) 2. The source of this circuit is a power transformer 3. After the output of the transformer, place a power switch 4. Place any power generator after the power switch (does not need to be in operation) 5. Add loads to circuit, specifically batteries 6. Switch off power switch 7. Observe batteries stay active
