Both Stone hatches and Smooth hatches are unable to eat aluminum, their database entry also does not mention aluminum as well as being unable to load it into a critter feeder.
Steps to Reproduce
Mine aluminum and it will not be an option on the critter feeder for either the Stone Hatch or the Smooth Hatch.
