Fish Feeders Don't Work or Work Intermittently

I posted about this on reddit but I'm posting here for more visibility, plus including a save file (Going for 100.txt is actually a .sav)

This is my first setup here. I ran out of algae after getting the carnivore achievement so there's no food in them now, but nothing has been modified about the tank since then. With these two identical tanks, the right one was working fine and fish were eating from it. With the left one the pacus would eat once when I re-loaded the game and then forget where the food was. Then the right one stopped working after I re-stocked it with sleet wheat and other seeds.

No algae on the floor, and the water levels should be fine (I've had no water in that top level before and they would still eat from the tile with the food).

Here's the other tank, this one still has 160kg of algae in the feeder and you can see the Pacu are "looking for food." It has 300kg of water directly below the feeder so maybe that's not enough? If it isn't I think something needs to change in-game because visually it looks like the food is somewhere they can reach. And right after un-pausing, the fish eats from the feeder. You can see it has both the "ate from feeder" moodlet and the "looking for food" one from before the load. After that, no other Pacu will eat from the feeder.

Once again, the SAVE IS INCLUDED, I'VE JUST RENAMED THE EXTENSION.

Steps to Reproduce

1) Run a colony for a while (this one is on cycle 134). I'm not sure if this is neccessary but the bug seems more frequent when the colony gets bigger.

2) Construct one of the designs below. For the first design, make sure your feeder is submerged in *just over* 500 KG of water, while the right hand side is filled with 700-800kg.

or

2) Build the design in the 2nd screenshot with 300kg of water below the feeder.

3) Fill your feeders (I ran out of algae for the first design but the bug was occurring before, and it's still occuring in the 2nd setup)

4) Observe that the pacu can't find the food.

5) Save and re-load the game and observe that 1 pacu will find the food, while the others will not.

User Feedback

More findings: Filling the tank up to the brim seems to help, but the fish eat very rarely to the point that they're always "looking for food" when there's tons of food near them. This causes some of the fish to reproduce but others to remain glum.

this happens to me quite often too. not only pacus not using feeder but also fort too. eventually one of my pacu ranch stopped working while I wasn't watching just because pacus not using the structures, and I have to rebuild and refill the pacus from somewhere.

also in my case not only this occurs in normal game session, but also in dev mode + sandbox mode. I was trying to test the new pacu ranch build with those modes on and went afk like 100 cycles with normal 3x speed, one of my ranch was slowly dying because of the same problem. odd thing is that I was testing exact same 3 pacu ranches at a time, on the same planetoid, and the other 2 was just running normally, without this issue.

I've been doing some testing and had success (not encountered the bug) setting the feeder to 1kg (algae or seeds) with 1 tame Pacu.  Having the feeder set to max seeds seems to cause the issue.  OTOH I was able to tame a Pacu with the feeder set to 10kg.
