EDIT: NOT A BUG -- Pacu in base game do not receive happiness from feeder

I currently play exclusively the base game. I do not own the Aquatic Planet DLC. However, my Pacu in my current run no longer receive happiness bonuses from the fish feeder. The Aquatic Critter Condo brings their mood from "Glum" to merely "Satisfied," and, as a base game-only player, the Aquatic Grooming Station is entirely unavailable to me. This means that the only way I could get my Pacu to lay excess eggs now would be to set up an Aquatic Critter Fountain with a Brackene supply. image.png.62009e48524655ad2e0ac268407b82c2.png image.png.7379fa95e219c3bc3aae011d336e3cad.png

Steps to Reproduce

In a file without Aquatic Planet content, put a Fish Feeder where a Pacu can reach it, and have the Pacu eat from the feeder. Click on the Pacu and hover over the "Ate From Feeder" status. It still removes the Pacu's wildness, but does not provide happiness.

User Feedback

This is not a bug but an intended adjustment in the latest patch. Fish feeder no longer provides happiness. Instead, if you want Pacus to be happy you will need to feed them Pacu Treats which can be made in the micro musher or use the aquatic critter fountain to hydrate them with brakene(+5 happiness). The treats gives them a +2 happiness, so with treats + the condo pacus will be 1 happy, however due to the change in reproduction mechanics which now scales with happiness. A 1 happy pacu will produce less eggs.

Basically they nerf pacus as they should tbh, but they nerf them a lil too hard imo.

Whether or not this nerf was entirely appropriate, I believe they could have communicated this change much better than they did. I don't know why the Microbe Musher would have crossed my mind, and I could not find a changelog.

I mean If you had read the patch notes it is there, and this change was there since the beginning of the public beta testing, i dont know how else they would communicate the change if its not in patch notes. Most players main issue was taming pacu without APP but they since made the treats to lower wildness.

I didn't know where to find the patch notes, though your point still stands, as I could have looked harder.

But at the same time, there could have been a "The game has changed since this save was last opened!" pop-up akin to when Deodorizers started needing power.
