Dupe gets stuck dismounting pre-built ladder submerged in scalding oil

I got lucky and saved the game about ten seconds before this happens. The dupe "Burt" goes down into the oil to build some wire and gets stuck at the bottom of the ladder and then glitches constantly until his death.
