I've noticed an odd behavior in the game UI. It occurs when selecting an object (e.g., Duplicant, Critter, Seed, etc.) and selecting the "Move To" or "Relocate To" button in the object's property window. When you click the button, the tile behind the window is immediately selected as the destination. This does not happen 100% of the time, but certainly the majority. To work around the issue, I move the camera so that the button is positioned in front of a non-selectable tile (e.g., a floor or solid material).
It's worth noting that I've seen this behavior with the Sandbox tools as well. For example, when selecting the Fill tool, then selecting a material from the list, the tile behind the click point becomes filled. If the material is the same as adjacent tiles, it is filled as well (i.e., the normal behavior of the tool still occurs).
The attached screen recording shows the behavior with three types of objects. In addition, it demonstrates the randomness of the behavior.
There are no specific steps, other than clicking an object and then clicking the Relocate/Move To button. However, to produce the attached screen recording, these are the steps I took:
-
Start a new game
- Classic Mode
- Survival Difficulty
- Active DLCs: The Prehistoric Planet Pack, The Bionic Booster Pack, The Frosty Planet Pack, and Spaced Out!
- Accept the generated set of Duplicants
- Have the Duplicants dig out a small section (for more movement)
- Select a Duplicant
- Click the Move To button
- Repeat until the behavior presents itself.
- Repeat steps 3 - 5 with a Critter and an item
