After installing the Steam version to a directory with '$' in it's file path, the game immediately goes to the "Help! A black hole ate my game!" screen on startup. After I moved the installation to a file path without '$' the game ran just fine.
I'm not sure if any other characters break it. I didn't test any other characters. I just noticed that '$' breaks it because I normally use '$' as a way to keep certain folders on top in my file explorer.
Steps to Reproduce
1. Install the game through Steam to a directory with '$' in it's file path.
2. Launch the game through Steam.
