Cannot produce microchip from Mercury

When I'm trying to use mercury(-100C) in a cold room with Power control station in it, Duplicant start making it, but when it is finished, he grabs it as microchip and then it instantly turn into 5g of mercury... This is not the case when using Cobalt for example. I have 500 tons of mercury and there is almost no other use for it.

I just encountered this same bug.  Playing with all DLC enabled on Ceres Minor.  Near the start of the game I was produced microchips with mercury (several hundred).  At some point this stopped working.  Unfortunately, I had assumed this was a "solved problem" for the colony and did not look at microchip production until upgrading to a new temperature controlled room.

The duplicant goes through the normal power control plant animation, but instead of dropping a microchip, 5kg of mercury are dropped in two piles below the power control station (see attached screenshots)

Left tile: 3750 kg (screenshot below showing left tile info)

Right tile: 1250 kg (screenshot below showing right tile info)

This is in a new room dedicated to creating microchips, temperature controlled to stay near -50°C.  Also tested at random places in the nectar biome.  Loading an old save from several days ago, the same problem exists.  Cobalt and Aluminum both produce microchips as expected.  Other metals were not tested.

Mods do not seem to be related.  The only mods I could not remove for testing have no connection to mercury or the power control station.

One possibly related issue:

When loading a new save game, soldering station queued tasks for bionic dupe boosters do not create errands in the soldering station (and thus no errands for the power control station).  I need to change the queued tasks each time I load a game to begin microchip production (noticed with a disabled soldering station).

I have a save game available if it would help solve this bug.

Removed mention of a "related issue" which is merely a normal game mechanic.
