Bridge routing oddity - input through bridge has priority over straight pipe

This was intended to be a priority joint - draw water straight from a geyser and only if it runs out, to draw water from the reservoir. Unfortunately it does not work the intended way and for some reason the water goes through the bridge instead of being pulled through the pipe.

Here's overall setup. As of my knowledge, it should be correct, first joining all outputs, then branching to inputs.

It can be remedied by puting a bridge behind the joing, but I believe that should not be necessary.

I also have found that if I keep cutting branches, this is where it starts working:

And this is the minimum step necessary to make it stop working correctly:

I believe a pipe split somewhere downstream should not be affecting behavior od a bridge in such manner.

It also helps if I deconstruct one of the electrolyzers. I made a "minimalistic reproduction". Orientation of elements seems to play a role.

This works right:

This doesn't work right:

The difference is just one more valve added to the bottom inputs branch.
