Have you already tried verifying the files on steam or reinstalling the game?

The file have been verified and even reinstalled, and I am not the only one who has encountered the problem of robot Chinese translation.

I have tried to change the Chinese of the robot in the Simplified Chinese translate file to English and it can be displayed normally.

Dear Klei Team,

I have received your automated reply, but it does not resolve my issue.

I am playing Don’t Starve and Don’t Starve: Hamlet on a Mac computer with an M2 chip. When using the Simplified Chinese language option, specific in-game text fails to display correctly and appears as garbled characters. Specifically:

  • All dialogue and text for the characters "WX-78" and "Wigfrid" (localized as "机器人" and "猪猪公主" in Chinese) show as garbled text.
  • The "Cause of Death" section under the "Morgue" tab (停尸间) is entirely unreadable due to garbled characters.

Notably:

  • All other Chinese translations in the game display All other Chinese translations in the game display perfectly.
  • When switching to the English language option, the aforementioned elements render correctly without issues.

I have thoroughly searched official forums and found other players reporting similar unresolved issues. As no existing solutions address this problem, I urgently request your assistance in resolving this critical localization bug.

Thank you for your attention. I look forward you for your attention. I look forward to your support.

Sincerely, Yangtao Liu
