In the Nintendo Switch version of Don't Starve, if you generate a world from the Reign of Giants DLC, the desert biome spawns the goats in the same place as the hound mounds, which usually causes all the goats to be killed by the hounds as soon as the world starts. This does not happen in the other versions of the game, such as PC or mobile, because in those versions the goats spawn on the side of the desert where there is a small area with grass tufts, instead of spawning on the same side as the hound mounds.
Create a RoG world in the Nintendo Switch version of Don't Starve, then go to the desert biome and you will see that the electric goats spawn on the same side of the desert as the hounds, which will cause the hounds to kill them all and leave you without goats in your world.
(This does not happen in the PC and mobile versions of the game, because in those versions the world generates the goats and the hounds on opposite sides of the desert biome. )
