Starting Hamlet on Nintendo switch (Don't Starve)

I had a lovely file that I started with all DLC in place on the Nintendo Switch. I started in the Reign of Giants world, then activated Shipwrecked. These worked perfectly. When I finally decided to activate Hamlet, I got stuck on a loading screen that eventually says error. Every time I load this file, it loads for a long time, only to bring me to the error screen. I cannot play my file anymore. I tried redownloading the game, moving it from the SD card to the main memory and then back when that didn't work. I checked for all updates on the console and the game. Nothing worked. I even contacted Nintendo, and they couldn't help. I do not use or have any mods. Please let me know if there is anyway to fix this as I really loved the game and that file.

So, nice to see this exists on switch too... but it seems this is a result of another bug I posted about a while ago that I got on Xbox. Basically what happens is if a hamlet world is loaded after a certain threshold (usually around day 70-110, and either through skyworthy or just playing Hamlet) the game just refuses to load that world anymore. I emailed the devs about it, got a response, but it seems that no one has done anything about it. I too have panicked trying to fix it, try to regain access to my worlds, nothing works. Although, it seems there is a minuscule chance that you may regain access to the world at some point, just keep trying.

 

Another note: The bug itself seems to be a desync between your local and cloud saves, causing this error. I once had the game crash due to an error with my login, and after reopening the game, I soon found out that this bug was no longer an issue. (Unfortunately the world file got corrupted later as a result of another bug. God I love Hamlet.) So this bug seems relatively easy to fix, but klei has stopped updating solo. Hopefully they will revisit it at some point to bugfix.
