Spider creep can spread onto water
Visually it looks fine as spider creep sorts below water tiles but you can still trigger the creep over water while on a boat
Steps to Reproduce
Place a spider den near the shoreline and wait till it has spread considerably.
Go on a boat and go near the area where the spider creep would be if it was over the water
It will alert the nearby spiders because there actually is creep there
