So often times, usually with the Chimenea in Shipwrecked, the Shadow Hands spawn either very very close to the light source and get to the light in under a second or spawn normally but are just static while the music plays and are also very short in length. Since they are so short they disappear as soon as you get close, like when you chase the hand all the way to it's root in the darkness.
Steps to Reproduce
Build Chimenea in Shipwrecked -> Be insane enough and wait for night -> Wait for hands to spawn (Or spawn them in through commands if that's a thing)
