It was started by the developers that the drops in the original game were caused by a bug and not intended.

Why not fix this bug in DS ? Not only for DST

Wait for the end of Nightmare Cycle near ruin shadow creatures

Hey, can we not fix stuff that people used for ages in DS? (We already have TOO much stuff being fixed for no reason... i want my Volcano reset back, Klei!!)

As the old saying goes, "it's not a bug, it's a feature". /s
