PS5/PS4 Don’t Starve Adventure Mode Bug Corrupting Save Files

Hardware: PS5 running PS4 game

Installed: Base DS, ROG, SW, and Hamlet

How to reproduce: after entering maxwells door, save and quit. After close the application and try to open the don’t starve game again.

 

Brief description: it happened twice on both don’t starve base and don’t starve ROG. After playing the mode on default settings, I would go through maxwells door/ after playing for a couple of days in said mode I would “save and quit” afterwards I would turn off the PlayStation and a later point try to start the game again. The issue appears.

 

My suspicions: save data somehow got corrupted, even after clearing cache and restating in safe mode the issue is still present. 

 

unfortunate fix: delete the save and restart the game anew with no save and thus no characters unlocked

I have the same problem too. Clearing cache and rebuilding database do not work too.

Reported 5 times via ps5.

Ive got the exact same problem and i don't have 6 hours to complete it just for a platinum trophy. Update as long as you are not actively in adventure mode when you save and quit the file does NOT get corrupted. IE you have no choice but to go from start to finish in one play through (found this out after getting to the maxwell and dying of starvation before i could finish the convo.🤦)
