Invisible monkey pods after burning

Jacques003r
  • DLC VERSION - IMPORTANT!: Vanilla - NO DLC, Reign of Giants Fixed

So apparently, what seems to break the ruins experience is the fact that burning monkey pods with a fire staff does not completely eliminate them (with a torch too I'd assume). Instead, they may no longer appear in the map, but they're still present somehow and invisible, as they still block your way when they're no longer supposed to be in such spot. Only way to eliminate them for now is hammering (but it's not even as cheap). Sometimes the pods remain visible without being so in the map, and still spawn monkeys, as if nothing happened. Attempting to hammer a bugged pod causes the game to crash.

Steps to Reproduce

1. Get in the ruins

2. Have a torch or firestaff (besides a lantern)

3. Go to the monkey biome and find pods

4. Light one up and watch it either become invisible or still visible but not in the map (it's supposed to turn into ashes)

5. Try to hammer a visible one, only to see the game crash.

5(bis). In case the pod is invisible, logout and relog, and it will reappear again, making burning them worthless (compared to DST).
