Game wont load after saving and quitting Adventure mode

Same problem at PS5 platform for the PS4 version. That makes the adventure mode unplayable, and the trophy of Maxwell is nearly impossible too. Horrible experiments for a fan of Don't Starve.

As stated by gloryxie, I'm having the same issue on the PS5. Once I get to adventure mode, by going through Maxwell's door, then save and close out of the game, the game crashes when trying to start it.

I have to delete the save in order to play it again. But, I lose all of my progress and have to unlock characters again.

This is happening to me on ps5 as well. If I quit and save the game while playing adventure mode, the game crashes immediately when I try to launch it again. The only way the game will launch is after I delete all my saves, completely losing all the progress I've made. Adventure mode is generally a really long process so the ability to save your progress and continue is pretty much required to clear it. In its current state, the adventure mode is virtually unplayable. It's really frustrating because that challenge is the reason I wanted to play Don't Starve again and now it just doesn't work. 

I’ve also run into the same issue. I’ve had over 100 days ran into adventure mode/ maxwells door. Save and quit while in there and viola could not load into game. FWIW, I’ve had this scenario happen twice once with base and the other with ROG. I have all the modes: Base, RoG, Sw, and hamlet installed. Both times save and quit during adventure mode bricked the save and thus the game itself. Please fix this issue Klei, 

For God's sake, there's no resolution to this issue yet? So frustrating, we can't play the adventure mode and unlock Maxwell... it's the only trophy remaining for me! Help us, Klei! Please!

Update: I made the trophy, but I had to play the whole adventure mode in one shot! It was exhausting, it take hours... but ok, it's the way. Klei really abandoned Don't Starve, the first game.
