Don't starve original is unplayable on PS4

I bought all dlc for don't starve and I play maxwell in dst so I wanted to unlock him in single player but everytime my ps4 makes a adventure mode save it redenders the whole game unplayable

It wouldnt even start it just has a error screen and kicks me out of the game, I tested it and I can delete all my save data then the game allows me to play it. If i start adventure mode the cycle repeats can this please be fixed, I really want to play this version of the game :(

Steps to Reproduce

Step 1. Find maxwells door

Step 2. Enter adventure mode and make sure it saves 

Step 3. Close the game 

Step 4. Try to open the game but will have a error screen and kick you out of the game

I have the exact same issue.  It crashed and deleted all of my previous saves when I started playing again recently, and now the adventure mode saves crash every time like you describe above.  The only way to get the game to open is to delete the save.
