In the base game (the vanilla game with no DLCs enabled), Deerclops's attack animation shows the ice spikes that previously only showed in RoG. Only the large ice spikes that are part of the animation itself are shown; the small ice spikes which are FX prefabs are not spawned, nor is the ice spike sound played since that's caused by the FX.
This bug occurs in both the main branch and the beta branch.
This bug was introduced long after the release of RoG (April 30, 2014). Here's a video from Aug 5, 2016 that shows how the animation is supposed to look (skip to 1:32 if it doesn't automatically):
Steps to Reproduce
- If you're testing this in the beta branch, you'll need to choose Maxwell to avoid crashing due to this bug.

- c_spawn("deerclops")
- Let it attack you.
