Having 2,3 or 4 winged sails open on the boat at the same time makes you unable to steer the boat or even get off the steering wheel or do anything, which results in a crash and possibly losing the boat. Only thing you can do is steer the boat using WASD keys on keyboard rather than clicking, but you still can't do anything else.
