Wanda Backtrek watch into Ocean

I could have sworn that on release wanda watches were anchored to the position of the water then got changed to remember boats you anchored a way point too. Now when i use the backtrek it anchors to the ocean again and if the boat moves and you then use the watch you fall into the ocean.
