Volume keep resetting itself to 0

{SOLVED} Restarted his pc again and it worked (dont know why it didnt work the first time)}

We were just joining the world and right when he joined, his volume was set to 0 all of the sudden.. He tried raising it back up and clicked apply and it keeps resetting it back to 0.

Here's what we've tried.

Verifying the integrity 
Reinstalling the game
Setting the speakers/headphones to 16 bits 48000 Hz. (from another thread)
We've looked a lot of forums regarding this issue, still didnt work.
