"Unable to write to files in the config directory" unfixable by all reccomended courses of action

This is an issue with the removal of OneDrive.

With OneDrive the user data, is stored in a directory like:
C:\Users\YourName\OneDrive\Documents

When you remove OneDrive, although the files may be in this directory:
C:\Users\YourName\Documents

But, windows, some apps and programs still know the old path, so they try to access the wrong path.
(which Klei stores user data in \Documents\Klei\)

The true way to fully fix this is unfortunately to reinstall windows as local account. This way OneDrive does not get used from the beginning. (You can search on youtube: windows 11 local account)

But you can try this as a bandaid fix:
1. In This PC, Right click the Documents folder in File Explorer.
2. Go to Properties > Location tab.
3. Click Restore Default.
(If it did not change to: C:\Users\YourName\Documents , then click Move... and manually locate and select that folder)
4. Click Apply and say Yes to moving files.
5. Restart the PC.
