Unable to join my friend on console edition

Whenever me or my friends try to join each other’s games, It says connecting and then sends us back to the loading screen.

Steps to Reproduce

Find your friends game in browse games and join, it should send you back to the loading screen and log you in again.

Same issue on Xbox. Trying to connect to a friend's world while split-screening. Tried accepting invites, using server browser, nothing works.
