Unable to join friends world

I am unable to join my friends world. She's in the US and I'm in the UK. This hasn't been an issue in the past. Now her world isnt showing up for me in and mine arent showing up for her. We have tried turning off all of our mods, making a new world, joining from steam and nothing is working. We can join other servers just not each others. Also when she opens her game it doesnt give her the most recent gift

Steps to Reproduce

Have a steam friend far away create a world and try to join.

I’m the friend. The Bearger Fur Roll is showing up in my user transactions, but I didn’t get the item in game. I’m not sure if it’s connected and there’s something wrong with my account, or just a coincidence.

Update: We were able to fix these issues (they were connected) but now we can’t play on any old worlds.
