"refresh" caught birds

I play Don't Starve Together with a friend and we like to catch some birds as food. You can refresh their "spoilage" when you put them in a birdcage and pick them again. It doesn't cost something so I think it's kinda op.

Steps to Reproduce
put a caught bird in a cage and pick him up again, so the bird spoilbar is refilled.
Go to bugs

I just tried this and the bird was not refreshed.

However, feeding the bird will refresh it, either directly when it's in the inventory, or when it's in the cage. Did you happen to feed it while it was in the cage (e.g. a meat to get an egg, or a crop to get a seed)?

Alternatively, some enabled mod could do that.

Oh my fault. Asked my friend, he feet the bird short time before that ^^"
