Plant Registry not registering rotten crops correctly

I got all 6 stages of all 14 crops on the plant registry but the Giant Pepper (all other 5 stages registered). Weeds I'm lacking picked Fire Nettles and grown and picked Tillweed. Now I'm trying to add the rotten stages and it`s not registering them correctly. It`s actually showing the lock image again when I research the rotten giant for the first time. The research action will continue to show, but trying it a second time won`t do anything, not even playing the sound again.
