Not being able to place a boat on controller

I was trying to place a boat while playing with a controller but wasn't able to because the boat wanted to place in the center of me

Try to place a boat on controller

Go to bugs

I not able to reproduce the issue. Are you playing on PC using a controller?
If you have any client-side mods enabled, could you try reproducing the issue with them disabled?
