for a little while now sometimes when i launch DST the screen would go to my secondary monitor whether its on or off
it will reset monitor specific settings like refresh rate and resolution to that of the second monitor
I've only observed this in DST
the rest of the settings are properly saved
I cannot confirm that the issue is caused by DST
I've provided any details I thought would be relevant and logs I could find
update on the issue:
after another instance where the game launched on the wrong screen
attempting to change the graphic settings had the window become way too large and leave the bounds of the second monitor
after turning the second monitor on and off the game window properly returns to the main monitor
that out of bound window happened any time the game was launched
after checking the settings the graphic settings were set to the main monitor number as indicated by windows settings
and resolution + refresh rate meant for the second monitor (yet the game appeared to be using the proper resolution for the main monitor)
after changing the display settings to use the number associated with the second monitor then window stayed on the main monitor
this issue is still persisting.

just yesterday selecting display 2 in DST would select this screen for the game
today its display 1 that brings the window to screen 2
i've only had this issue with DST
no other game or application has decided that display 1 is monitor 2 and other days that display 2 is monitor 2
and I have also verified that monitor 2 is in fact the main display. it never once wasn't set as the main display
I cannot find a direct cause to this problem
with that said factors I have observed are:
it happens frequently after putting the computer to sleep
specs:
using windows 10 latest update
using the latest steam client
using an HDMI switch on the main monitor
(after putting the computer to sleep the switch skips to the next input signal)
using an rx 6700 xt nitro+ sapphire 12gb
if the second monitor is off while launching the game
when it is then turned on it will automatically move the game window to the main monitor
if the monitor is on when it happens the settings are reset as mentioned
(i have confirmed that windows settings have the main monitor as the main)
(the issue does persist after moving the window back without putting the computer to lock or sleep at any point in between)
