Game Wont Launch

Every time I click 'start' on steam to launch Don't Starve Together, the screen goes black as if the game is loading, then the screen goes back to normal and the game is no longer loading and didn't start.

This seems to be a constant and continuous issue for me that usually coincides with new characters and new character updates.

Even when this issue has been solved in the past, the very next related update immediately caused the same issue.

Verifying the Game Cache doesn't help.
