game freezes after 5 seconds of starting up.

I load the game up and after 5 seconds it freezes, the only thing that kind of fixes it is opening the steam overlay by pressing shift+tab, and all that does is show the next frame. i still have audio and everything i click does what its supposed to do i just cant see it happen until the shift tab thing. EDIT: I fixed it by going into the file bin64 and disabling fullscreen optimisations on dontstarve_steam_x64
