FPS drops when mousing over inventory items

After ~45 minutes in a session the game drops massive frames when hovering my mouse over inventory Items. This is with and without mods, i have had this issue multiple years on numerous differrent computers. This happens when playing offline and online, 64 and 32 bit. However this is not the case with Dont Starve, Only Dont Starve Together. 

My computer specs have always been well above the reccommended and i have tried alot of different things,
